The three-dimensional reconstruction and visualization of plants are the hotspots in the field of plant morphology.And the 3D reconstruction is based on the 3D point cloud data.Therefore,how to obtain 3D point cloud efficiently is the focus of research.So far,most of point cloud acquisition systems are based on computer.Because of these systems are installed on fixed equipment,they are unable to satisfy the requirements of mobile users.With the upgrade of mobile terminal hardware and wireless network,the 3D point cloud acquisition system based on mobile phone becomes a feasible solution.It will meet the needs of faster and more convenient point cloud extraction.Based on this situation,this paper studied the technology that can capture the 3D point cloud of plants based on mobile device,and build a complete system that can capture 3D point cloud.The tests were carried out after the implementation of system.The main study contents are as follows:(1)A three-dimensional point cloud acquisition for plants based on mobile device was proposed.Due to poor flexibility on PC,slow processing speed and limited memory on mobile phone and so on,we proposed to develop a 3D point cloud acquisition system on the mobile terminal through the C/S architecture.This program aims to get the image sequence through the mobile,and upload the image sequence to the server for point cloud computing.At last,the server returns points to the mobile for display.(2)A 3D point cloud acquisition system for plants based on the mobile device was developed.In order to solve the high cost and poor flexibility of traditional point cloud acquisition technology,the 3D point cloud acquisition system was developed by the mobile device.Firstly,we analyzed the system feasibility of technology,theory and economy.Secondly,system design and module design were finished through the requirement analysis.Finally,the various functional modules of the system were achieved based on the technologies of Android development and building server,SIFT algorithm,Bundler algorithm and PMVS algorithm.Thus,a complete 3D point cloud acquisition system for plants based on mobile terminal was developed.Finally,in order to verify whether the system meets the requirements of funtion and performance,tests were did on the system.The functional testing of the system was carried out using both plant and non-plant cases.Performance of the system was tested in processing time and the number of 3D point by controlling the different factors.It was better to obtain the 3D points for different plant and non-plant objects.When the number of images is 30 and the imageresolution is 1600 × 1200,processing time was kept within 20 minutes.It can be concluded that the system meets meets the expected functional requirements and performance requirements.
