Since ancient times,perceiving to the battlefield surroundings and learning about the battlefield topography is the basis of the military deployment,but analysis and application of maps is always the indispensable tool of this perception process.With the rise of rapid manufacturing technology,the traditional maps are shown in three-dimensional form,which created the three-dimensional geographical model.This model can artistically simulate the reappearance of natural landscape,and intuitively express the terrain and physiognomy,features and thematic information,so it is the simulation of the objective world.Compared with the traditional Sand Table,it is more precise,lighter and easier to carry,these characters provide an accurate and reliable basis for military terrain analysis,chief command decision making,and the task of the army.However,there are few related researches on the rapid manufacturing technology of 3D model in China.Therefore,this paper will summarize the 3D model production process based on 3D carving and 3D inkjet technology according to our long-term research and production practices,aiming at to provide basic theoretical exploration and experience summary for the efficient production and related research.Rapid manufacturing technology is the technology that to digitally reproduce the 3D model of printing objects in a fixed format,and then to produce them by technology of layer by layer or subtraction using powder metal,flexible plastic coil,paper,or foam board,board,slate and other materials.Rapid manufacturing technology can be divided into material addition technology and material reduction technology.In this paper,the material reduction technology is introduced into the field of geographic information,and made some innovative design to the 3D geographic modeling and high-precision 3D topographic map production process combined with geographic spatial data modeling,large surface numerical control carving technology,3D printing and coloring technology,etc.,This makes the rapid manufacturing technology and three-dimensional inkjet technology applied to the production of geographical models become a reality,which eliminated the human error of the traditional geo-modeling method and can accurately describes the subtle features of terrain.The practice of high density plastic foam board and high density polyurethane material shows that this not only can solve the problem of the large cost of printing raw materials and the unenough color expression,but also greatly reduced the production cycle of large-scale 3D geography model and made up the lack of 3D printing technology in the production of 3D geographical model.In addition,the working principle and related technology of 3D inkjet robot and the color separation algorithm used in 3D inkjet system are researched,and the angle optimizationmethod is improved to reduce the error in the model making process.The image texture information of the model surface is processed manually,the model effect is more realistic.With the development of manufacturing technology,the requirement to the accuracy and accuracy of geographical elements that 3D geographical model expressing will be higher and higher,it is worth to strengthen research and application.Sound,light,electricity,multimedia and other technologies and models can all be used to this field,so to make the model's effect more realistic,function more comprehensive.The combination of geographic information system and model can realize buffer analysis,shortest path analysis and so on,so that three-dimensional geography model rapid manufacturing technology becomes more and more valuable.
