Single photon source is an essential part of quantum communication system. With the development of micro-nano optics, the researchers focus on the single photon source based on the micro-nano structure. Improving the radiative efficiency and directivity are the key technologies for recent micro-nano structure single photon source. The free propagating light can be turned into local electromagnetic field energy at subwavelength scale by a plasma nanoantenna with surface plasmon polaritons to strongly enhance the radiative decay rate. Besides, nanoantenna also has great influence on the propagating directivity of photons. Therefore, nanoantenna becomes an important part of single photon source. The radiative decay rate, quantum efficiency and directivity of single photon sources can be improved by the coupling of nanoantenna and single emitter. In this paper, we theoretically introduce the single photon source and its applications on the quantum communications and the basic principles of nanoantenna as well. Moreover, we do researches on the nano-rods antenna to analyze the influence on its properties under different structure parameters due to relevant theory and discuss the influence of different structure parameters. Then we propose a new arrangement of Yagi-Uda nanoantenna structure to increase the directivity of single photon source with a high radiative decay rate. These outstanding properties of this Yagi-Uda nanoantenna lead to a bright, reliable and practical single photon source.
