In recent years, with the development and application of microwave millimeter wave technology, the frequency of the low frequency utilization is higher and higher and the degree of frequency reuse is becoming more and more serious, so the frequency of the low frequency resources increasingly tense. Therefore, researchers began to pay more attention to higher frequency electromagnetic application and research, the representative is the terahertz band electromagnetic waves (THz wave).However, in the applications of terahertz and higher frequency electromagnetic waves, the transmission characteristics of electromagnetic wave in atmospheric is the important theoretical and practical basis of frequency band selection and distribution of the equipment parameters, need to choose according to different application background of different frequency of electromagnetic wave. Therefore, research on the atmospheric transmission attenuation characteristics of THz wave has high theoretical and application values. This paper mainly studied the transmission attenuation characteristics of the THz wave, for oxygen, water vapor, fog and dust,and the influence of the main contents and results are as follows:Based on MPM93 model method, the features of continuous absorption and spectral of oxygen, water vapor molecules in atmospheric is studied, the THz wave attenuation of the level, tilt and vertical path between two points is analysed. The results showed that the attenuation effect of water vapor in the atmosphere of terahertz wave is much greater than oxygen, and due to the large atmospheric density of the underlying atmosphere, the attenuation effect of the underlying atmosphere on the terahertz wave propagation is greater than that of the upper and middle atmosphere on different transmission paths.The transmission attenuation characteristics of the THz wave of complex weather conditions, fog and dust, is studied. The visibility and THz wave transmission attenuation relationship is got. The transmission attenuation characteristics of the THz wave id analyzed under 300 GHZ transmission attenuation.Based on MATLAB software platform, a user-oriented visual THz wave transmission attenuation calculation software is developed. A experiment system of simulating different humidity and fog's meteorological conditions is designed for the 80-105 GHz electromagnetic wave transmission attenuation experiments. The results shown that the attenuation in the 94 GHz window is lower, and in accordance with the theoretical calculation results.
