Gaoshiti-Moxi block has became a hot spot in recent years. This carbonate reservoir development is mainly controlled by karst, which means the reservoir shows strong heterogeneity, the distribution of caves and fracture here is complex. Some scholars have done some researches on the structural characteristics, sedimentary environment and reservoir genesis. However, with the development of this area, more and more geological data have been obtained and then, new problems have appeared. Therefore,it is necessary to carry out geological work. This paper focus on the characteristics of the four section of the Dengying Formation. It is quite important in the coming exploration. The division of sequence stratigraphy in study area is based on the third Sequence that predecessors divided. The fourth section of the Dengying formation are divided into six sequence strata by using P.Vail's classical sequence stratigraphy theory and considering the lithology, sedimentary cycles and electrical characteristics.Through the observation and analysis of field profile, drilling core, logging data, and considering the petrological characteristics, structure, structure and logging signs, the sedimentary facies of the four sections of the Dengying formation in study area were studied from sedimentary facies analysis of single well and plane distribution of sedimentary facies. It is considered that the four sections of the Dengying formation mainly developed the pond and platform subfacies.Pond subfacies is distributed in the central part of the study area.Platform subfacies is distributed in the surrounding area is the platform of the the study area. And lagoon subfacies is underdevelopment, which only can be seen in the SQ4-1 layer.Through the analysis and observation of outcrop, core and logging data, this paper do some research in the lithologic characteristics, reservoir characteristics and structural characteristics, and try to do some progress in the aspect steric configuration. The study of steric configuration is based on space division and combination of characteristics of the reservoir. This paper divide the steric configuration into four kinds of configuration: karst cave layered structure configuration, karst cave grape lace configuration, inter breccia cave configuration, fracture cave combination configuration, and then summarizes the characteristics of each type of configuration.Besides this, this paper made the identification template of reservoir configuration in well logs, which will help in the next step: use configuration as sedimentary facies in geological modeling.Different configuration types reflect the heterogeneity of the reservoir. Therefore, based on the study of reservoir configuration and understanding of the previous modeling ideas of carbonate reservoirs.Drawing lessons from clastic sedimentary facies-controlled modeling ideas, this paper make an ordinary modeling which is based on the distribution of reservoir configurations. In addition, for the fracture-vug carbonate reservoirs modeling, this paper also made an exploratory study about the triple medium's properties modeling of matrix-fracture-vug reservoir. On the basis of the geological model, this paper analyzed the distribution of reservoir structure in the vertical and the plane, then do some prediction in favorable reservoirs. The favorable reservoir in this area is mainly composed of layered karst cave and the combination of fracture and cave.On vertical, the configuration of the layered karst cave and the combination structure of the fracture and cavity covers a great part.In the plane, both layered cave configuration and the combination of fracture and hole configuration, can be widely found in the north and south of the strip belt, and can hardly seen in the east.As a result, the west of the study area and some part of the central area are favorable reservoirs which is better than the eastern region.
