The Junggar Basin has abundant oil and gas resources, its southern margin has a complex structure, the basin has low degree of prospecting and high potential for exploration . In this article, we take the section of the Lucaogou Formation in the Dalongkou area of the west southern margin of the Junggar Basin as the starting point to study the geochemical characteristics of source rocks in the region are.Through the organic geochemical characteristics,we made the discussion that the abundance of organic matter, type and maturity information of the source rock of the Lucaogou Formation in the area . The factors that control the formation of the ancient climate, pale salinity and the redox environment of the ancient water bodies are analyzedby the method of "biomarker compound ion basis, and as to better provide the basis for oil and gas exploration in the region.Through the organic carbon content, Chloroform bitumen "A", organic carbon isotopes and Pr / n-C17 and Ph / n-C18 values for isoprenoid alkanes, we can know that the research area of hydrocarbon source rocks with high abundance of- organic matter and the organic matter type was ? - ?; The biomarker parameters indicate that the source of organic matter in the source rocks of the study area is mainly aquatic organisms such as algae. Volcanic activity brings a large amount of P elements to the lake basin, which provides nutrient for the reproduction of algae, Coupled with the warmer and humid ancient climatic conditions,Promote a large number of algae breeding. A large number of propagated algae provide a material basis for the formation of large-scale high-quality source rocks; The maturity of the organic matter in the source rock is not high at the research area,the parameters of the biomarker compound showed that the source rocks of the Luzaogou Formation in the research area were basically in the stage of low mature - medium maturity ;Through the comprehensive analysis of the biomarker parameters and trace and rare earth element parameters, we can see the source rocks in the research area are weakly oxidized and weakly oxidized in the water body, and the salinity in the water body is higher, which leads to the enhancement of the reducing environment.
