&HPS(integrated history and philosophy of science)is the theme which many core philosophers of science focus on in recent 30 years,it advocates the re-combination between history of science and philosophy of science by reflecting their past relationship.&HPS represents a new breakthrough in the field of philosophy of science. With the intention to blend philosophical analysis and historical interpretation in pluralistic approaches such as naturalism, intellectual history of science,SSK,complementary science, and others,&HPS is grounded on pertinent historical sources of science and widely discussed issues in contemporary philosophy of science. The dissertation is divided into three parts besides the introduction and conclusion. The first part is concerned with the opportunities and progress of the &HPS,and challenges in the development of it.The second part elaborates several representative modes in &HPS,including naturalism, complementary science, intellectual history of science,SSK and so on.These pluralistic approaches represent different points of view and specific methods to achieve the integration of history of science and philosophy of science. And these approaches will help us to understand the career of &HPS better. The third part simply summarizes the features of the &HPS by analysizing the similarities and differences among the representative modes, and cites the achievements in &HPS to points out the breakthrough, innovation, and the main troubles in the progress. This dissertation not only means to comb and analysize the overseas research on &HPS,but also make up for the vacancy of the research in China and enrich the domestic scientific theory research.
