Seal ring of marine equipment has an important influence on the safety and normal work of the equipment.In the seawater,the equipment have more serious problems such as leakage,wear and corrosion due to the special physical and chemical properties of seawater medium.If the seal ring is damaged,seawater will enter the equipment,create serious corrosion,increase hidden danger,shorten the life of equipment,or even cause an accident.In this paper,the sealing performance analysis of combined U-ring used in rotating pair of marine equipment is implemented to guide the design of this new combined U-ring.The combined U-ring is made of hydrogenated nitrile rubber and EPDM rubber.First of all,the paper has compared the characteristics of the imported C-ring and combined U-ring in structure and material,then expounded the manufacture process of combined U-ring.Next,based on the super elastic feature of the ring,numerical simulation for combined U-ring in different boundary condition is implemented by constitutive theory and Mooney-Rivlin model in ANSYS.conduct the tensile experiment to this specially developed new formula rubber and got the constants of Mooney-Rivlin model by fitting the experiment data.Von Mises stress,shear stress and contact stress are the three important aspects to judge sealing performance and material state.finite element simulation for combined U-ring is implemented to discuss the influence of seal's section shape,geometric dimension,sealing contact state on the three aspects.Finally,the best combination of seal's curve radius,diameter of o-ring,friction coefficient,compression ratio and sealing eccentric was obtained through orthogonal experiment.
