Surface plasm on polaritons are a kind of special electromagnetic wave produced by the collective oscillation of incident photons and massive free electrons at the interface of metal.It not only has the characteristics of near field enhancement and surface transmission,but also can be used in the range of subwavelength scale.In this paper,based on the surface plasmon waveguide structure,a novel long range surface plasmon polariton Prague grating cavity and a two-dimensional hybrid surface plasmon microcavity structure are constructed.The finite difference time domain method is used to study the field distribution of the novel microcavity structure.At the same time,the influence of geometrical parameters of the structure on the performance of the micro cavity is analyzed.Mode volume design of micro cavity structure is not only smaller,but also better quality factor.And can provide a basis for the design and production of novel tunable long-range surface plasmon filters and lasers.Firstly,the basic theory of surface plasma is introduced in this paper.The optical characteristics of the surface plasmon polaritons at the metal dielectric interface are studied,such as dispersion characteristics,excitation mode and characteristic length.Then,the three-dimensional finite element method is introduced.Secondly,an insulator metal insulator long range surface plasmon polariton Prague waveguide structure is constructed.The propagation and electromagnetic field distribution of the waveguide structure are analyzed.Based on the waveguide structure,a novel photonic microcavity structure with defect mode is constructed by introducing defects in the symmetrical Prague grating.Three dimensional finite difference time domain methods are used to study the energy band properties of the microcavity structure.The effects of the number of cycles and the length of the cavity of the Prague grating on the quality factor Q and the mode volume V are discussed.Finally,a hybrid photonic crystal waveguide structure in the form of metal photonic crystal is proposed.On this basis,a cell defect is introduced at the center of the photonic crystal layer,and a novel hybrid surface plasmon microcavity structure with a defect cavity is constructed.The quality factor and mode area of the micro cavity structure are optimized by changing the geometrical parameters of the two-dimensional hybrid surface plasmon resonator.Finally,the influence of the air hole diameter around the defect and the air hole filled with different refractive index medium on the structure characteristics of the microcavity is discussed.
