Traditional underwater vehicles,for example torpedoes,the tail is equipped with fin rudder,mainly to change or maintain its sports posture by the steering mechanism.With the advancement of science and technology,the application of underwater vehicle is more and more extensive,and complex and diverse tasks require with higher maneuverability for the underwater vehicle.In recent years,the new control method of underwater vehicle with the control force of the engine thrust vector and side jet flow has been paid more and more attention by the scientific research workers.The side jet flow control method refers to a new concept for providing a control force by means of a gas generating device on the side of the underwater vehicle.It can provide better maneuverability for underwater vehicle,especially high-speed underwater vehicle,which is not limited by the position of water depth and ready to be used and closed quickly and multi-point fine control.The jet flow in the underwater vehicle is the complex multiphase flow problem of diffusion of subsonic and transonic gas jets.In this paper,methods of experiment and numerical simulation are used to study the characteristics of the formation,evolution and jet flow pressure in the underwater vehicle under the cross flow which provides a basis for the engineering application of the relevant side jet flow.Based on the experimental and numerical simulation methods,the evolution law and the characteristics of side jet in the underwater vehicle without cross flow are studied.In the experiment,the evolution law of the side jet flow and the characteristic of the flow field pressure are analyzed,and the influence of the mass flow rate on the jet shape has also been studied.The reason of the shot back phenomenon is analyzed.In the numerical simulation,the multiphase flow model was used to simulate the evolution rule of the underwater gas jet and the change of the Mach number.without cross flow.The generation and evolution law of the jet flow on the underwater vehicle and the characteristics of the flow field are studied by using the circulating water tunnel under different cross flow velocity.The variation law of the gas-water interface on the underwater vehicle under the cross flow is obtained.The influence of cross-flow velocity and mass flow rate on the effective length of the jet is also studied.It is also got the influence of the cross-flow velocity and the mass flow rate on the characteristics of the flow field pressure and pressure pulsation.
