In recent years, adhesive structures have been widely used in many fields, such as civil engineering, automobile, aviation, medicine and so on.With the development of science and technology,a large number of new materials have been applied to engineering practice, such as graded materials have been very good application. However, the study on the mechanical properties of graded materials mainly depends on the stress analysis before the interface failure. There are still some scientific problems in the study on interface damage mechanism, therefore, the following studies are carried out in this paper:First of all,in a large number of literature indicate that the bilinear cohesive zone model(CZM)is determined by three main cohesive forces parameters, the three cohesive parameters are affected by the adhesive thickness and can be adjusted by the intrinsic parameters of the CZM.However, its shape is not very important,so the CZM model is popular with many researchers in its concise form. The work chooses the bilinear cohesive zone model to describe the damage and failure process.Secondly, the most common single lap joint(SLJ)is mainly used to study the effect of the graded adherend on the adhesive interface failure mechanism. Here,The variation of the elastic modulus of adherend according to the linear, exponential and power variation, and through the preparation of their own subroutine USDFLD of the finite element software ABAQUS to achieve. Finally, when the elastic modulus of the graded adhesive increased monotonously, decreased monotonously, first increased and then decreased, first decreased and then increased in four different situations, the effects of the different variation of graded elastic modulus including linear, parabolic and cosine variation and the scarf angle on the interfacial failure strength and stress distribution has been studied by using the single angle lap joint(SJ).The different variation of graded adhesive through the preparation of their own subroutine USDFLD to achieve.
