Scientific Exploration And Research Of The Chinese Antarctic Geoscience

The Antarctic continent is one of the oldest continents on earth.As people explore any unknown continents,the moon,Mars and other celestial bodies,geoscience has always been one of the important contents of the Antarctic scientific expedition in china.The purpose of this paper is to collect and collate the efforts made by Chinese experts and scholars and their important scientific achievements over past 30 years in exploring and studying the composition and evolution of the Antarctic continent.The dissertation made the following research results and innovative understanding:(1)the study of Antarctic geoscience is an important part of Chinese Antarctic scientific expedition;(2)Clarifies the development course of the research experience of the Antarctic geoscience.The improvement of the ability of China's Antarctic survey,the progress of various testing techniques and the development of international cooperation are the key factors in the research achievement of the Antarctic geoscience;(3)Indicates that Antarctic geoscience research is one of the five major themes in the Antarctic scientific expedition in China,which is juxtaposed with high altitude physics,glacier action,environmental change and oceanic circulation;(4)The research stage of Antarctic geoscience in China is divided scientifically in this paper,and comprehensively analyzed the important achievements of each stage.Furthermore,the research methodology,research process,and scientific significance of the important achievements of Antarctic geoscience in China are also systematically summarized,and its contribution to the promotion of our position in the international Antarctic affairs;(5)Scientifically summarizes the main results of the Antarctic geoscience exploration and research in our country,which includes:(1)the west Antarctic continental Cenozoic stratigraphic classification,paleomagnetic studies and global extremely hot events;(2)the found of the Pan-African period structure thermal events in east Antarctica and Prydz belt's confirmation;(3)The east Antarctica of very different pieces of whole Cambrian metamorphic basement properties and chronology framework;(4)The advance and retreat of the polar ice caps in east Antarctic and the evolution of global environment;(5)Establishes the lithosphere 3D structure of Antarctic continent;(6)Creates the Antarctic subglacial geology research;(7)A survey on Antarctic mineral resources;(8)Accomplished a batch of geological maps of the Antarctic continent series.(6)Research shows that the Antarctic geoscience research in China ranks the cutting stage in international Antarctic continent research field.Thereinto,the research on the Pan-African Prydz belt in east Antarctica,the 3D Lithospheric structure of Antarctic continent and the subglacial geology is in the leading position in the world;(7)Summarized and predicted the future direction of the Antarctic continent geoscience research in ChinaMore importantly,with a theme on scientific history of research,this paper is aiming to elucidate the development status of the Antarctic geoscience over past 30 years in China through sorting the experiences and achievements on exploration and research of the Antarctic geoscience.Combined with the current hot topics of Antarctic scientific exploration and research,the future development direction and prospect of the Antarctic geoscience in China are expected.
