There are small,large quantity and large deformation characteristics of aerial photo that acquire by UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle),in order to interpret and analyze,it is necessary to mosaic aerial photos to a whole image that contain coordinate.The thesis for the purpose of mosaicking UAV aerial photos quickly,the experiment UAV images are part of Fujian Normal University Qishan campus,the mosaic experiments depend on writing Matlab simulation code and C++ code by using POS(Position and Orientation System)data and electronic map,what's more,we use mosaic image overlap with standard image display,sample points verification and sample lines verification to verify mosaic precision.The study improve based on SIFT(Scale Invariant Feature Transform)feature mosaic,putting forward two new mosaic ways:benchmark image registration mosaic and mosaic image based on coordinate adjustment.Analyzing two way advantage and disadvantage,than confirming the best practicability mosaic way.Main research conclusions:(1)The mosaic image is superior in quality by SIFT feature,but there isn't coordinate information and costing much time,it can improve mosaic efficiency by extracting feature points on image overlay area.Because there is error accumulation phenomenon when images are large quantity,so it is appropriate combine other way to mosaic.(2)Benchmark image registration mosaic:the SIFT feature mosaic image register with benchmark Google Map,then the mosaic image was given coordinate information,the absolute positional accuracy of mosaic image is 3.39m,it is suitable for applications which needn't high location accuracy.(3)Mosaic image based on coordinate adjustment:the visual effect of mosaic image is good after adjusting coordinate by making use of high accuracy feature register mapping relation,there isn't error accumulation.The absolute positional accuracy and relative positional accuracy of mosaic image is 1.31m and 0.86m,it can be used to make high accuracy image map,to compare two mosaic ways,mosaic image based on coordinate adjustment is better to UAV image mosaic on the reliability of geographical coordinates.
