In the recent years,fiber-reinforced composites laminates have been widely used in aerospace,civil engineering,weapons,and other fields,and all these owe to its extraordinary mechanical properties.But in the real life,various types of impact load often occur in fiber-reinforced composites laminates,it is easy to damage by the impact load,and leading to the decrease in the strength.As a result,it is doubtless important to research the mechanical behavior and fracture toughness of the composite laminates,and it is also attracted more and more attention in the academia and engineering.In this paper,theoretical analysis,experimental test and finite element analysis are presented to describe under the action of dynamic impact,the mechanical behavior in the CT samples of GFRP.The details are as follows:According to some literatures,manufacture GFRPs by the material of long glass fiber reinforced polypropylene,then use the cutting machine to make the samples of tensile,compression,shear and CT.At the same time,adopt the method of manual polishing to finish the following process,all these ways can lay the foundation for the subsequent experiments.Test the mechanical parameters through the experiments of tensile,compression and shear by the equipment of universal material testing machine,and all these results as the basis in the experiment test and finite element analysis.To research the fracture toughness,making two types of GFRP.The universal material testing machine are used to test the quasi-static fracture toughness,at the same time,adopt the Hopkinson tension bar to carry out the dynamic fracture toughness.According to the characteristic of materials and the introduction of some literatures,use the constant of K to evaluate the fracture toughness of GFRP,and compare the different layers in the materials.Under the same conditions,adopt the method of finite element analysis to compare the experimental results and simulation results,verify the accuracy.
