In order to clarify the characteristics of seismic response to volcanic reservoir in Fengcheng Formation in south slope of mahu depression and identify the dolomitic and volcanic reservoirs.Studies are carried out as follows based on the previous research results, which lays a good foundation for the future exploration and development of volcanic reservoir in study area.Firstly, the fine structural interpretation for target intervals is made. Then, the characteristics of seismic response to dolomitic and volcanic reservoirs are concluded by comparing the results of the lithological interpretation with its seismic profile. Finally, the prediction of the volcanic reservoir distribution range is made by using the method of seismic inversion and seismic attributes extraction. The results show that :(1)Five fault-stratigraphic traps and two fault block traps are found with the fine structural interpretation.(2)Make sure research area is mainly located in the front of fan delta, the lithology of reservoir is dominated by underwater channel sand.(3)There is a great difference in the characteristics of seismic response between reservoir and non-reservoir,dolomitic reservoir performance medium-strong,low frequency and layer property in seismic sections.Volcanic reservoir performance strong amplitude, good continuity and low–medium frequency.(4)It has been predicted the favorable zones distributing discontinuously in study area by extracting the amplitude attributes, which are good for the development of reservoirs.(5)Quantitative prediction of favorable reservoir by inversion, the wave impedance of reservoir ranges from 11250 to 15500g/cm3.m/s.Dolomitic is mainly distributed in 3842 m,the thickness is about 50 meters, volcanic is mainly distributed in 3955 m,the thickness is about 20 meters.
