Exploration Potential Of Coalbed Methane In Zhongmu Area

Zhongmou area is located in the southern north China basin in the northwest of minzhu uplift in the slope.The coal seam is thick and high metamorphic grade.The studies about coalbed methane exploration potential are few so far.Basing on the data of chai 1 well in Zhongmou area,reservoir characteristics are researched on the main coal seam 1,and CBM resources features are calculated by volume method.Analyzing coalbed methane enrichment and mined influential factors in the qinshui basin and east margin of ordos basin from the some factors,such as:geology factors,coal-beating propeaies,gas-bearing properties and workability。Coalbed methane exploration potential area are obtained in Zhongmou area.The results show:(1)Zhongmou area has favorable geological conditions to develop CBM.Its coal-layer thickness up to 10.7m,it’s total CBM resource is 2441.73×10~8 m~3,with a high metamorphic coal seams,and it has high resources abundance with 2.21×10~8m~3/Km~2.(2)Based on the influence factors of CBM development in qinshui basin and east margin of ordos basin,it is concluded that the three regional structures are similar with the same deposition time;The main coal seam is thick in Zhongmou area,The metamorphic degree is similar with qinshui area and higher than the east margin of ordos basin.The burial depth of coal seam is relatively great and the distribution of coal seam stability is poor;The gas-bearing properties and abundance of resources are high in Zhongmou area;The gas saturation in coalbed is in the medium level in Zhongmou area;From the aspects of stable carbon isotope of methane,the coalbed methane is in a better zoning and adsorption time is shorter in Zhongmou area;the conclusion is that part of Zhongmou is valuable to the development of coalbed methane in the region.(3)Zhongmou area is located in advantageous area,the most favorable target areaⅠis distributed in these areas above 2000 meter.
