Carrimycin fermentation residue was a rich nutrients source for fermentation with crude protein content of41.0%.With fermentation residues as raw material to produced single cell protein(SCP) and degraded the residual carrimycin, not only reduced the wasted pollution, but also alleviated the shortage of protein resources. Based on the correlation analysis of parameters, the feasibility of SCP from carrimycin fermentation residues was investigated and the bioprocess was optimizied in this study. An indirect biomass determination method found on BacTiter-Glo method was performed in an insoluble carrimycin fermentation residues medium. A correlation coefficient (R2) of0.992between the Luminescence from BacTiter-Glo assay and dry cell weight(DCW) was achieved.Carrimycin fermentation residues utilized as single or complete carbon and nitrogen sources was carried out.The carrimycin fermentation residues containing a small amount of glucose, ammonium sulfate and urea were used as the fermentation medium. The nutrient medium components were optimized with the single factor experiment and orthogonal design. The optimized medium composition was as follows:30.0g/L carrimycin fermentation residues,20.0g/L glucose,3.0g/L (NH4)2SO4,3.0g/L urea,0.02g/L CaCO3,0.5g/L K2HPO4·3OH2O,0.2g/L MgSO4·7H2O, pH6.0±0.2.The biomass produced by residues was22.5g/L, that was18.7g/L biomass than the basic medium.75.0%of residues was conversed. An on-line monitoring of viable-cell mass was performed with an capacitance probe fitted to a5L fermentor. The relationship between capacitance and DCW with a correlation coefficient (R2) of0.991was achieved. Through the correlated parameters analysis of capacitance, CER, OUR, RQ and carbon and nitrogen utilization, we found Geotrichum candidum grew faster in residues than that in control medium. At the end of fermentation, the capacitance was increased to13.4pF/cm, that was1.8times than control medium. The results showed that Geotrichum candidum could growth well in residue medium.Crude protein content in SCP was50.3%, increased by9.1%than fermentation residues. The dry cell weight was39.5g/L and increased by23.8g/L than control medium. The residual carrimycin was reduced by73.3%. Crude ash content and Crude protein content achieved to the common feed standard. The results suggested that SCP production using carrimycin fermentation residues was feasible.
