In this paper, by using synthetic strategies of crystal engineering, we obtained a series of novel supramolecular complexes through selecting tetra-halogen substituted benzenedicarboxylate acid as the main building ligands under appropriate conditions with different N-containing heterocyclic compounds. Here we focus on the behavior and properties of tetra-halogen substituted benzenedicarboxylates when it constructs supramolecular complexes, as well as the law of supramolecular structures in different substituents, synthesis conditions and weak interactions.First, in chapter 2, we have successfully built sixteen three-dimensional network structures with 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoroterephalic acid (H2 Tfbdc) as the primary ligand. These complexes exist in the stronger C-H…F hydrogen bond, due to the C-H---F hydrogen bond, the bending dihedral angle between carboxyl group and benzene ring of the tetrafluoroterephthalic acid is about 10°, while the water molecules play an important role in constructing the complex 3, complex 4, and complex 5.In addition, in the chapter 3, we have successfully built eight supramolecular complexes which select the 2,3,4,5-tetrachforophthalic acid (H2tcpH) as building block with a series of N-containing heterocyclic compounds. Except the complex 19 is in solvothermal conditions, the other complexes are synthesised by the method of solvent evaporation at room temperature. In these complexes 17-21, there are Type I and Type ? Cl…Cl interactions, while in the other complexes they build the three-dimensional network structures through the weak hydrogen bond C/N-H…CLIn charper 4, we have successfully synthesis eight complexes by self-assemble with 2,3,5,6-tetrabromoterephthalic acid (H2Tbta) and a series of N-containing heterocyclic compounds under the method of solvent evaporation at room temperature. These complexes obtain three-dimensional network through the hydrogen bond and ?-?. stacking interaction. In these complexes, the complex 25 obtains the three-dimensional structure by ?-? stacking interaction, while O/C-H-Br hydrogen bonds extend the two complexes 26 and 27 to the three-dimensional network. In this paper, these complexes not only have been investigated infrared spectroscopy (IR), themo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction analysis, but also investigated the synthons in these structures. Except for the analysis of the supramolecular structures of these complexes, as well as enrich the study of the organic acids with the N-containing heterocyclic compounds in the supramolecular chemistry.
