As is known to us all, V and Ti are important strategic resources. They are material guarantee of national economic development and state security, widely used in metallurgy chemical, aerospace, national defense and military, etc. Vanadium-titanium magnetite as important carrier vanadium titanium resources, spread throughout PanXi, Chengde, HanZhong, XiangYang, etc. Possible ore is abundant, only in Panxi there is more than 10 billion ton. Owing to its "lean" "fine" "scattered" and "complex" characteristics, in traditional smelting blast furnace the rate of multipurpose utilization of Fe V Ti in the ore is very low, which causes serious wasting of resources and environmental pollution.Based on the material characteristics and research status of vanadium-titanium magnetite, this paper put forward a new reduction and selective separation process of vanadium-titanium magnetite based on based on hot pressing. Through the preparation experiment of CCB, we studied the influence of hot-pressing temperature, carbon ratio, the particle size of mineral powder and the particle size of pulverized coal to the compressive strength of vanadium-titanium magnetite CCB. Then we get the reasonable process parameters of vanadium-titanium magnetite CCB. We studied the influence of intensity of magnetic field, reduction time, carbon ratio, reduction temperature, etc, on the reduction-dressing effect through reduction and selective separation experiment. We are given as followes:(1) Hot-pressing temperature is the most significant influence factors for the cold strength of vanadium-titanium magnetite carbon composite iron ore hot briquette. The next is carbon ratio, the particle size of mineral powder and pulverized coal. In a certain range, with the increasing of the hot-pressing temperature and carbon ratio, the reducing of the particle size of mineral powder and pulverized coal, a remarkable improvement of compression strength can be obtained. Taking the orthogonal experiment results and the actual operation into account, the best process parameters are that the hot-pressing temperature is 475? and the carbon ratio is 1.2, the particle size of mineral powder is -200 mesh, the particle size of pulverized coal is-200 mesh, then the compressive strength of carbon composite iron ore hot briquette is 1482.5 N/a in this experimental condition.(2) The new technology based on hot briquette of vanadium-titanium magnetite reduction-selective separation can realize the separation of iron and vanadium, titanium in vanadium-titanium magnetite and obtain high grade iron powder and titanium slag.(3) When carbon ratio is 1.2, reduction temperature is 1350 ?, reduction time is 60 min, magnetic field intensity is 50 mT, the process indicators of reduction and selective-separation is as followings:the grade of reduction and selective-separation product is 85.90%, metallization rate is 79.31%, the iron yield is 91.19%; The grade of V2O5 in tailings is 1.402%, the yield of vanadium is 61.82%; the grade of TiO2 in Tailings is 39.12%, the yield of titanium is 85.31%.(4) Reduction process for iron phase of vanadium-titanium magnetite of carbon thermal reduction:Fe2O3?Fe3O4?FeO?Fe; Fe2TiO5?Fe2TiO4?FeTiO3?FeTi2O5. Reduction process for titanium phase:Fe2TiO5?TiO2?Ti3O5?Ti2O3?TiC0.2N0.8.
