Dispersion flotation of technology the mixed magnetic concentrate containing carbonate was studied in the subject. The optimum dispersant that can disperse the mixed magnetic concentrate containing carbonate was determined by type and dosage conditional tests of single dispersant and combined dispersants. On this basis, the best conditions test and open circuit test and closed circuit test of dispersion flotation were carried out. The optimum dispersion flotation process for Donganshan mixed magnetic concentrate containing carbonate was formulated, and the comparison with steped flotation was made as well. In this paper, coupled with DLVO theory, XRD, SEM, Zeta potential and infrared spectroscopy detection means were used to analyze the dispersion mechanism of the dispersant deeply, which provide a theoretical basis to make use of the mixed magnetic concentrate containing carbonate effectively.The type and dosage conditional tests of 20 kinds of single dispersant and combined dispersants were conducted, which included inorganic dispersants and organic dispersants. NM-3 (200 g/t) was ultimately determined as the preferred dispersant by conprehensive comparison indicators and cost of dispersion flotation. On this basis, the optimum conditions test and open circuit tests were carried out when the citric acid was the dispersant. The optimum dispersion flotation conditions was ultimately determined. One roughing-two cleaners-one scavenger dispersion flotation process and its optimum pharmaceutical system were formulated.The grade of iron concentrate obtained in close circuit test was 66.37%, and it recovery rate was 75.00%, while the grade and recovery rate of tailings were 22.08% and 25.00% respectively. In addition to the dispersion flotation was easy to operate, its separation indexes was ideal.Compared with steped flotation at site, dispersion flotation using NM-3 as the dispersant was able to raise the flotation index significantly and simplified the flotation process greatly. Dispersion flotation increased the iron concentrate recovery rate of five percentage points substantialy while ensuring the iron grade. Dispersion flotation not only canceled the positive flotation, but also replaced the reverse flotation of one roughing-one cleaner-three scavengers process by one roughing-two cleaners-one scavenger process.Finally, the concentrate and tailings were studied by XRD and SEM analysis, which certificated the concentrate product had been dispersed effectively. Settling tests verified the dispersion properties of NM-3,and its dispersion mechanism was analyzed by DLVO theory. Dispersion mechanism of NM-3 was further investigated by HLB analysis, Zeta potential and infrared spectroscopy detection. This paper provided a theoretical basis for utilizing the mixed magnetic concentrate containing carbonate.
