NC machining is one of the most important processing method in today's process of manufacturing production. NX has complete NC processing function. It requires the engineer to familiar with all kinds of commonly used processing methods and processing parameters, and needs much complex human operation. To a certain extent, all of these restricted the efficiency improvement of NC programming. So, it is very important to develop a NC automatic programming system with high degree of automation, using NX open platform.Taking NX 8.5 and Visual Studio 2010 as the platform, using the machining feature automatic recognition technology, combined with the application of the configuration files and templates, completed a high degree of automation and application of flexible fixture parts of communication terminal automatic programming system. Firstly, the systerm automaticly recognises the processing feature parameters, and then matches The processing plan via the configuration files, finally matches the operations and processing parameters according to the specific plan. The configuration files' data is written based on the business process design specification and programming experience. With this method, engineers' programming experience will be translated into the mapping data in the configuration files. When engineers modify some parameter settings, they only modify the data in the configuration file. Now, the array to identification and dealing with the free surface are the key factors for the improvement of the automatic degree of the fixture parts NC machining. In this paper, via the vast majority of cases analysis, put forward an array feature automatic recognition algorithm based on the ray cutting faces method and a dealing with the free surface algorithm based on eight curves enveloping. Using the feature automatic recognition algorithm and the surface processing algorithm, the system met the requirement of programming, and realized the automation programming.In this paper, based on the configuration files, achieved the mapping characteristic parameters and the empirical data, connected CAD and CAM module. It improves the degree of automation in the fixture parts NC processing of communication terminal. Using this system, the efficiency of fixture parts NC programming is greatly improved.
