Water pollution is a difficult problem in the development of the world. Along with the process of the urbanization,the treatment of sewage and industrial wastewater is improved. After the urban point source pollution is basically controlled,the non-point source pollution of urban rainfall runoff will become the main factor of urban water pollution.At present,our country is in the stage of the rapid development of urbanization. These two problems have seriously affected the production and life of people.Based on the above background,this paper analyzes the progress of the study on urban rainfall runoff pollution at home and abroad. The runoff samples of the rainfall runoff of seven kinds of underlying surface in Wuhan city were collected. The PAHs,TN,TP,SS and COD of rainfall runoff water samples were detected and analyzed. The results show that the maximum of COD,TN,TP and SS concentrations in the rainfall runoff of Wuhan are 651,31.90,2.15 and 7693mg/L. The pollutant concentrations of the rainfall runoff in Wuhan city were compared with other cities in China. We found that the concentrations of TN,TP and COD in the rainfall runoff of Wuhan city were lower than that of Kunming,Shanghai,Guangzhou and Beijing,but higher than that of Haikou. The SS concentration in the rainfall runoff of Wuhan is higher than that of Kunming,Shanghai, Guangzhou, Haikou and Beijing. Finally, according to the relevant meteorological data and the underlying surface of Wuhan City,the annual pollution load of COD,TP,TN,SS and PAHs in the rainfall runoff of Wuhan was estimated. Results show that COD,TN,TP and SS annual pollution load of Wuhan City rainfall runoff were 23608.4?1299.4?95.4 and 102081.5 tons,and the annual pollution load for ?16PAHs is 64.9kg.
