The gas disasters cause very serious casualties and economic losses every year. In order to prevent the occurrence of gas disaster, it is necessary to evaluate the risk of gas disaster.Gas geological map is the embodiment of gas geology research. It is an important map that contains many aspects. It can be used to analyze the distribution laws of gas, assess the value of gas exploitation and study regional prediction of coal and gas outburst. So it can be used to evaluate the risk of gas disaster. This paper analyzes the gas risk of BaLianCheng Mine by using the method of gas geological map compiling. Then a scheme of coal gas extraction is supplied to control the gas disaster. Finally the effect of gas drainage is simulated by using numerical simulation software. The following works are:(1) The law of gas geology in Baliancheng mine is studied. The law and distribution of geological structure is analyzed. The influence of gas deposit occurred by fault, fold, the lithology of the roof and floor, the magmata intrusion and karsts collapse pillars is researched.(2) Seam gas deposit law in BaLiancheng mine is studied. The multiple regression methods are used to predict the gas content. Based on the gas content the gas pressure is calculated. The paper forecasts the gas emission by applying different-source forecast method. Its outburst risk of coal and gas is predicted. The CBM resources are calculated also. On the basis of the isarithm of gas content, gas pressure and gas emission quantity, together with the actual measured data and law of gas geology, the gas geological map is drawn.(3) Based on the results of the gas geology map, the gas risk is assessed. According to the gas source in caving face, a gas controlling scheme that gas drainage with high position boreholes in gaof is supplied. The simplified model of spatial structures about goaf fissure is studied. The effect of gas drainage is simulated by using numerical simulation software COMSOL Multiphysics.
