China is rich in vanadium resources, but its vadadium products are relatively homogeneous. And the fields of application of these vadadium products are very narrow. Therefore, it is important to expand vadadium products and these application fields not only for the vanadium chemical industry but also for the comprehensive utilization of vanadium magnetite.As a very promising new functional materials, iron vanadate has broad application prospects on elecotrochemistry, magnetism and photochemistry catalysis and so on. In this experiment, sodium metavanadate is the main raw material. Iron vanadate is made by precipitation and hydrothermal. Under the experimental conditions, the conclusions are as follows:(1) Whether by precipitation method or hydrothermal process, the samples of iron vanadium with high purity and uniform particle size distribution can be prepared, and the particle size can be controlled below 100nm.(2) When the pH value is 1, V2O5 is present in the sample. With the increasing of pH valuein the solution, iron vanadium phase disappears in the samples prepared by precipitation of. In the iron phase, sodium jarosite appears gradually and transforms into iron oxide.(3) When the pH value is 1.5 in the solution, with the increasing of temperature, V2O5·H2O diffraction peak intensity gradually increases as so as the sample of n(V)/n(Fe) ratio. The sample sizebecomes large and heterogeneous. When the pH value is 6 in the solution, with the increase of temperature, iron vanadium phase diffraction peaks intensity increases gradually, while the iron oxide phase diffraction peak intensity gradually weakens. As the same time, the ratio n(V)/n(Fe) in the sample increases gradually, and tends to be 1.(4) The optimum process parameters of preparation of iron vanadateby precipitation is: the pH value is 1.5?2; the temperature is 25?; the ratio n(V)/n(Fe) is 1:1; the standing time is 60min. The optimum process parameters of preparation of iron vanadate by hydrothermal method are:the pH value is 1.5-4; the temperature is 160?; the ratio is 1:1; the hydrothermal time is 120 min.
