Poly(ether ether ketone)(PEEK) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer resin.Which has excellent mechanical properties, high temperature resistance, solvent resistance,and good thermoplastic polymer thermal stability. PEEK had been successfully applied into aerospace, machinery, medical, petrochemical, and other fields.It is difficult to use pure PEEK in harsh environments with high temperature and pressure due to its characteristic. It is with this thought that there is a constant study of composite PEEK matrixes.In this paper, PEEK/CNTs?PEEK/CF?PEEK/CF/CNTs composites were prepared by ultrasonic dispersion, melt blending, and compression molding with PEEK as matrix and CNTs, CF as additive. Three-point bending tests, thermo gravimetric analysis(TGA) and cone calorimetry were used to evaluate the mechanical property and thermal stability as well as the retardant properties of the composite. Analysis of the mass fraction of carbon nanotubes,carbon fiber mass fraction, and different additives on the influence of the performance of PEEK, prompting PEEK get more widely used.The results showed that CNTs, CF added can effectively improve the mechanical properties and flame retardant properties of PEEK. Mechanical tests showed that when the mass fraction of 5% CNTs, the bending strength of PEEK/CNTs was the largest.And the composite have a minimum peak heat release rate of 412.4 kW·m-2by cone calorimetry, thermo gravimetric analysis showed that CNTs added can effectively alleviate the thermal decomposition of PEEK, delayed the initial decomposition temperature, the initial decomposition temperature increased by 5? compared to PEEK. When the mass fraction of25% CF the composite of PEEK/CF performance is superior, bending strength was 204 MPa,peak heat release rate was 260.8 kW·m-2, had a maximum combustion performance index value and low fire hazard, the initial decomposition temperature is 512?, higher 25? than PEEK, and delayed decomposition temperature, showed excellent thermal stability.When the mass fraction of CNTs is 5% and CF is 25% the properties of PEEK/CF/CNTsmaterial had better performance, bending performance increased by 39% over PEEK, peak heat release rate was 224.9 kW·m-2, decreased199 kW·m-2and 35.9 kW·m-2 over PEEK/CNTs and PEEK/CF, the initial decomposition temperature is 515 ?, increased 23? and 3? than PEEK/CNTs and PEEK/CF,decomposition speed was very slow and had a good thermal decomposition which can expand the application range of polyether ether ketone.
