This paper to the substrate for EVA and EVA/LLDPE, aimed at improving the bonding strength of EVA with MAH and studying the coMPatibilization of PA6/HDPE by using EVA-g-MAH and EVA/LLDPE-g-MAH as bulking agent. Some properties of EVA-g-MAH and EVA/LLDPE-g-MAH were tested, such as mechanical property, MFR, peel strength et al; the microstructure, mechanical property, MFR and water absorption of PA6/HDPE which was coMPatibilized was discussed.In this study, MAH was melt grafted onto EVA or EVA/LLDPE in twin-screw extruder in the presence of peroxide. It was confirmed, by chemical titration and FTIR, that the graft reaction did take place. The polarity of EVA, which was proportional to its VA content, had great influence on the grafting reaction. In order to obtain higher graft ratio and lower degree of cross-linking, dosage of MAH should also be carefully determined. If 100 phr EVA and 0.1 phr DCP were used, ratio of MAH/DCP should be adjusted to 4/1. In the system of EVA/LLDPE-g-MAH, the graft rate of the system changes smaller as the ratio of LLDPE/EVA increases from 5/95 to 10/90, just down a little bit. It is thus clear that, the graft rate of the system will not be affected more when adding right amount of LLDPE in EVA.The effect of different dosages of MAH on peel strength of steel sheet and aluminum sheet spliced by EVA-g-MAH was investigated in this paper. The peel strength of aluminum sheet spliced by EVA-g-MAH was increased from 67.54N/mm to 109.03N/mm, so as the release force increased from 1017.93N to 2420.65N when dosages of MAH increased from 0 to 4%. Peel strength and release force increased obviously.The effect of PA6/HDPE coMPatibilized by EVA-g-MAH and EVA/LLDPE-g-MAH was investigated. During the process of melt blending, insitu reaetion between PA6/HDPE and EVA-g-MAH took place and copolymer was formed at the interface. The resulted copolymer improved the dispersion of the dispersed phase in the polymer matrix. Molau test and SEM test of PA6/HDPE showed that, coMPatibility of two phase of PA6/HDPE improved obviously.The effect of different dosages of EVA-g-MAH and EVA/LLDPE-g-MAH on mechanical property of PA6/HDPE was investigated in this paper. The test showed that, adding suitable amount of LLDPE in EVA can improve the tensile properties and the mechanical property of PA6/HDPE can improve more when dosage of LLDPE was less than 10% of the total matrix.The tensile property achieved to the maximum when the dosage of EVA-g-MAH is 2%(the dosage of MAH is 2%); The elongation at break of PA6/HDPE increased nearly 3 times when the dosage of EVA-g-MAH increased from 0 to 6%, The notch iMPact strength of PA6/HDPE was also increased.The effect of different dosages of EVA-g-MAH and EVA/LLDPE-g-MAH on water absorption of PA6/HDPE was investigated in this paper. The water absorption of PA6/HDPE declined obviously when the dosages of EVA-g-MAH and EVA/LLDPE-g-MAH increased.
