The slippery liquid infused porous surfaces are fabricated by infiltrating functionalized micro/nano surface structures with low-surface energy, chemically inert lubricating oil. The lubricating oil is locked by micro/nano structures due to the capillary effect, and a dynamic oil film is formed on the surface. Therefore, the liquidsolid interface is replaced by liquid-liquid interface, leading the significant reduction of flow resistance. Compared with traditional superhydrophobic surfaces and superoleophobic surfaces with similar low sliding angles, air trapped in the pores is replaced by the lubricating oil, which can provide better pressure stability. Furthermore, slippery liquid infused porous surfaces possess appealing self-healing ability due to the capillary flow of lubricating oil. Now the slippery liquid infused porous surfaces are still in the experimental stage. How to apply slippery liquid infused porous surfaces to production and life will become the research hotspot. This thesis summarizes and analyzes the recent fabrication and application of slippery liquid infused porous surfaces, and integrates it into electrowetting on dielectric(EWOD). In order to improve the breakdown voltage, this thesis applies lithography to produce the ITO electrode. Micro Writer maskless lithography equipment is also used to manufacture slippery liquid infused porous surfaces and lyophobic surfaces on the ITO electrode. Testbed is also built to measure and compare their breakdown voltage. In order to solve biofouling, this thesis uses polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) to manufacture slippery liquid infused porous surfaces. This thesis uses polystyrene microspheres as template and then pour PDMS on that. After demoulded, the PDMS will form lypphobic surfaces. The slippery liquid infused porous surfaces are made by infiltrating demoulded PDMS into lubricating oil. Furthermore, this thesis chooses escherichia coli as experimental subject, immerses the two surfaces into Escherichia coli culture medium for 48 hours and compares the attachment of escherichia coli on both slippery liquid infused porous surfaces and lyophobic surfaces. This thesis relates to interdiscipline. The theory of fabrication of slippery liquid infused porous surfaces which this thesis analyzes and summarizes and the related experimental parameters are useful to some extent for further research of slippery liquid infused porous surfaces.
