With the rapid development of modern manufacturing industry in C hina, the car has been integrated into daily life, the number of car sales and production is increasing, so the demand of market is increasing. The corresponding NC machining technology has received extensive attention. Most of the automobile panel dies are sculptured surface, considering the limitations of the machining of ball end cutters, non ball end cutters are used more and more widely, but it usually produces phenomenon of interference. Therefore, how to avoid the phenomenon of interference is mainly considered in NC programming. Based on the above problems, this work carried out optimized machining parameters for two kinds of the classical sculptured surface, according to the mathematical model of optimal parameters, it replaned the tool path and adjusted the workpiece orientation.Firstly, this work optimized row spacing in the machining of automobile panel dies of the annular cutters, respectively established the mathematical models of row spacing, cutter geometry parameters and residual height about the four types of the surface. According to two kinds of classical surface, it established the mathematical models of row spacing, which were based on the points of cutter location. Based on the mathematical models, respectively for the four types of surface, the milling experiments were done to verify its accuracy.Secondly, for less cutting interference in machining of automobile panel dies of the annular cutters, this work analyzed the different geometry relationships between the cutter and connection points of surface, according to the mathematical model, angle of cutter shaft was optimized. The trajectory simulation and machining efficiency analysis of the concave surface were done, this work chose direction of the cutter and determined the conversion relationships between the coordinate system, and finally got the clamping angle of the workpiece; For the model of the concave surface, respectively, the experiments with two kinds of methods were done in order to compare with each other and verify the correction of the optimization method. Finally, for the over cutting interference in machining of automobile panel dies of the annular cutters, this work analyzed the causes of the interference and chose a method to eliminate interference. It machined the convex surface and determined the position of the interference po ints. It replaned the tool path with the application of interpolation after adjusting the cutter orientation until it was the best, in order to achieve the goal of eliminating the interference. For the convex surface model, respectively, the experiments with two kinds of methods were done in order to compare with each other and verify the feasibility of the optimization method.
