The fly ash ceramic coatings are prepared on pure copper with the method of thermo-chemical reaction and thermal plasma spraying. XRD and SEM are used to characterize the composition and morphology of the ceramic coatings. The corrosion resistance, erosion and abrasion wear resistance of coatings are also tested.Thermal chemical reaction ceramic aggregate uses two kinds of formula. One is made up with fly ash and Al powder,which named coating 1. The other is made up with fly ash,Al powder, B2O3 and CeO2,which named coating 2. The results show that comprehensive performance of coating2 is better than that of coating 1. AlPO4,AlNi3 and 3Al2O3.2SiO2 are generated within the coating 1 after heated. AlPO4,CeTiOs,CaMgSi2O6,KBSi2O6 and AI2S1O5 are generated within the coating 2 after heated.The acid, saltand oil medium corrosion of the composite coating 1 are increased 1.22,1.29 and 1.29 times respectively. The acid, saltand oil medium corrosion of the composite coating 2 are increased 1.92,2.03 and 1.95 times respectively.Thermal plasma spraying ceramic aggregate is made up with fly ash,Al powder,B2O3 and CeO2. Al9Si?Al3.21Si0.47 and 3Al2O3.2SiO2 are generated within the coating. The acid, saltand oil medium corrosion of the composite coating 1 are increased 8.53,6.64 and 7.80 times respectively. Oxidation resistance is increased 3.13 times compared with the matrix. Abrasive wear resistance is increased 6.16 times compared with the matrix..Erosion wear resistance of thermal chemical reaction coating layer 1 and 2 are increased 1.37 to 1.77 times,3.13 to 3.20 times respectively. Erosion wear and corrosion wear of thermal plasma spraying ceramic coating are increased 4.72 to 7.11 times,6.64 to 7.84 times respectively.
