Batch equilibrium experiments were used to reveal Sulfadiazine adsorption/desorption on sediments collected from the Yixian section of the Daling River. The studies showed that the adsorption/desorption time of sulfadiazine is basically same in the tested sediments, the adsorption time of sulfadiazine is 36 hours. the desorption of sulfadiazine is 48 hours, it appears hysteresis. The Elovich equation was the optimal model to describe the adsorption of sulfadiazine. The adsorption of sulfadiazine by the tested sediments could fit well with the Freundlich equation. The different pH results in the different equilibrium adsorption quantity, the lower pH cause to the smaller equilibrium adsorption quantity. The different cationic conditions of sulfadiazine adsorption could also fit well with the Freundlich equation. Different cationic conditions of sulfadiazine solution leads to different sulfadiazine adsorption capacity(Kf). The adsorption of sulfadiazine by the tested sediments without sediment organic matter(SOM) also could fit well with the Freundilich equation, removal of SOM could reduce sulfadiazine adsorption capacity(Kf).
