Polyether diols is widely used in Polyurethane adhesive and sealant due to its characteristics such as high flexibility, low temperature resistance, low price and the ability of compatible with various additives. But its application range is limited from the lack of multiple functional groups. In this paper, polyether resin was prepared by poly propylene glycol(PPG) through a series of reactions, which was applied to polyurethane adhesive and sealant, respectively. This work will set a stage for development and production of high performance polyurethane adhesives and sealant.In this paper, polyether alcohol sodium was prepared for the synthesis of epoxy group polyether and allyl polyether, allyl polyether was terminated with silane to obtain silane terminated polyether. This paper was mainly studied the preparation technologies of polyether alcohol sodium, allyl polyether, epoxy terminated polyether and silane terminated polyether. The results show that: a) the optimum conditions for the preparation process of polyether alcohol sodium are that the reaction time is 4 h, reaction temperature is 110 ?, molar ratio of polyether diols and sodium methanol is 1:2.4; b) the optimum conditions for the preparation of epoxy terminated polyether are that the reaction time is 6 h, reaction temperature is 100 ?, molar ratio of polyether alcohol sodium and epoxy chloropropane is 1:3; c) the optimum conditions for the preparation of allyl polyether are that the reaction time is 6 h, reaction temperature is 100 ?, molar ratio of polyether alcohol sodium and vinyl chloride is 1:4; d) based on allyl polyether, using silane terminated polyether, the optimum preparation conditions are that the reaction time 3h, reaction temperature 90 ?, amount of catalyst 100 ppm, molar ratio of allyl polyether and trimethoxy silane is 1:2.2.Preparation of polyurethane adhesive by adding and without adding epoxy terminated polyether to make PET/Al/RCPP composite membrane. Steam boiling test at 125 ?for 45 min and aging test at 50 ?and at different times was conducted on composite membrane and comparative studies of the inner T type peel strength before and after cooking with different aging time were made. The results show that: a) polyurethane adhesive with epoxy terminated polyether and without epoxy terminated polyether has little change in peel strength before and after cooking and can meet the application requirement; b) aging resistant of polyurethane adhesive with epoxy terminated polyether is better than without epoxy terminated polyether and less peel strength change rate; when aging at 50 and at aging time of 7d, 15 d, and 30 d respectively, the peel strength change ?rate of polyurethane adhesive without epoxy terminated polyether is 31.25 %, 71.05 % and 84.87 %; meanwhile the peel strength change rate of polyurethane adhesive with epoxy terminated polyether is 29.00 %, 45.33 % and 53.00 % respectively only.Silane terminated polyether resin was applied to the preparation of moisture curing sealants. The mechanical properties and the surface drying time were tested. The results show that tensile strength is 1.48 MPa, breaking elongation is 48.6 %, surface drying time is 15 min.
