The electrolyte is a complex mixture, which performance determined by the composition and content.Usually, the electrolytes for Li-ion batteries have complex compositions, resulting in vary electrochemical behaviors.This paper introduces the development of lithium-ion battery electrolyte and the components of the most widely used lithium-ion battery electrolyte in detail. Furthermore, we analysis the organic components and the lithium salt of electrolyte. Finally, the relevant methods of analysis are discussed.Detailed, components of the most widely commercial electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries are introduced in this paper. Components of the electrolytes, including organic solutions and the lithium salts, are analyzed. Furthermore, the relevant analysis methods are discussed.Firstly, the methods of component separation for electrolytes, including extraction separation, distillation separation and solvent extraction separation, are contradistinguished. According to our researches, recovery rates of electrolytes separation through extraction separation and distillation separation are serious low. At the same time, no loss of electrolytes is detected by solvent extraction. Therefore, solvent extraction is established as separation methods of electrolyte components.through the extraction separation and distillation separation method, solvent extraction separation method of research, found that extraction separation and distillation separation method, the recovery rate of the two methods are serious on the low side, should not be used for the separation of the electrolyte. Solvent extraction of sample without loss, therefore established in solvent extraction of centrifugal method as the organic components in the electrolyte and electrolyte of lithium salt separation methods;Secondly, methods of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to analyze organic components are determined in our researches. In our researches, the solvents, including DMC, DOL, EMC, MPC, GBL and PC, are analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Finally, the chromatographic column DB-17 ms are determined;(The velocity of 1 ml/min; Split ratio systematically; Chromatographic column 30 n constant temperature for 1 minute then 10 n/min to 200 n 18 minutes elapsed time for a suitable for GC- MS analysis conditions) Finally]through the method of ion chromatography-atomic emission spectrometry]lithium salts for electrolyte are analyzed. In order to reduce the analysis error effectively, the appropriate instrument parameters are investigated carefully.Through methods of gas chromatography- mass spectrometry, compositions of leak material of lithium battery in the study of security, were determined and analyzed. Moreover, the Gas from the flatulence cells is investigated, to develop safety testing system lithium ion batteries.
