A unique advantage was obtained by three-dimensional braiding, because the overall mechanical properties of composites can be enhanced. When variable section 3-D performs was formed, the number of knitting yarns need to be increased or reduced, since nonuniform thickness of fabric will be caused by the varying cross section. However, since yarn carryings in the track-and-column braiding schemes must be moved on the entire row or column, that demand of forming variable cross-section perform can’t be satisfied.In this thesis, a program of flexible braided chassis was proposed. In this program, the path of any yarn carrying can be controlled, so that all the yarn carryings can be moved not only separately but all cooperatively, thus the flexibility of yarn carrying was enhanced and favorable condition for improving of braid pattern was created, too. Besides, structure of the flexible braided chassis was presented, working principle and control method was introduced, machining precision of various parts in the braided chassis as well as their impact during process was analyzed, driving force of yarn carrier device was verified, and positioning method and scheduling of the device were discussed. In addition, key issues of control system for the flexible braided chassis were analyzed, and then corresponding control scheme was designed.In this control scheme, designed for the chassis, the interactive interface was programmed using Visual Studio 2012, and the control of stepping motor was achieve with the application of motion control card and motor driver. Electromagnet was chosen as actuator in the control and positioning of drive device, it’s control was completed with adopted of the MSComm control in Visual Studio 2012, MCU system, NRF24L01+ wireless modules and other middle part.Finally, physical fabrication, assembly and commissioning of the program were accomplished. Insufficient of mechanical structure and control program, appeared in the actual verification, were analyzed, solutions and ideas to conquer them were proposed. It was verified that, this program of flexible chassis was feasible.
