Because of low eddy current loss, high resistivity, high capacitance, and high permeability, ferrite is widely used for manufacturing the parts of the motor, transformer, automobile, airplane, rocket, radar and other equipment. But the existing hole machining technology makes the accuracy bad, quality poor, processing efficiency low. Therefore, this paper proposes to employ the rotary ultrasonic machining and the tool load matching system to achieve the high precision micro hole machining of ferrite materials. The studies include the following aspects:Firstly, according to the processing characteristics of microwave ferrite material, an accessory ultrasonic machining head is designed, which is mainly composed of an ultrasonic generator, a piezoelectric transducer, an ultrasonic tool, a special knife handle and a high speed ring. Among them, the ultrasonic generator, which has the function of automatic frequency tracking, can realize the continuously range of the resonant frequency from 17 kHz to 80 kHz, and the regulation precision is 0.1 kHz; the vibration amplitude of the ultrasonic vibration system can reach 10~20 ?m; the speed of the ring can reach more than 4000 r/min.Secondly, based on the gas lubrication technology, the structure optimization of the air flotation workbench is completed; the pneumatic system is designed to realize the lubrication and support to the air flotation workbench; the electric control module is built to finish the load monitoring and control of the tool load matching system, in which 3 force sensors are used to achieve real-timely acquire of ultrasonic the cutting force signal in the process of the rotary ultrasonic machining. Among them, the tool load matching air flotation workbench loses weight 10.93%; the load control resolution of the air flotation workbench can reach 12 g, and the maximum load 60 kg.Finally, the ultrasonic precise micro holes technology experiment platform is built to machine the garnet ferrite materials. Then the mechanism of ultrasonic vibration drilling is analyzed, and the influence of the process parameters, tool parameters, ultrasonic parameters on the cutting force, machining efficiency, surface quality, dimensional accuracy and tool wear are obtained. Thus, corresponding measures are taken to improve the surface quality and dimensional accuracy, and reasonable stable micro holes technology scheme is set out.The research content of this paper provides a new research mentality and technical route to solve the technical difficulties of the small diameter deep hole processing, at the same time, a large number of experimental results have huge guidance on how to improve the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of the workpiece.
