Nano zinc oxide photocatalyst doped with lanthanum/yttrium was synthesized by polyacrylamide gel method. The effect of the quality of acrylamide monomer and N,N'-methylenediacrylamide lattice reagent, calcination temperature and doping content on the photocatalytic performance of zinc oxide was evaluated. The prepared powder was characterized by XRD,TEM,BET,XPS.Taking methyl orange as the target pollutant to investigate the photocatalytic properties of zinc oxide doped with rare earth. The results showed that in the 3 samples of the monomer and reagent accounting for 2%,3%,4% of the zinc acetate solution by mass, the particle diameter of 3% of zinc oxide was evenly distributed, and it had the smallest particle size and the largest specific surface area.In addition, zinc oxide was prepared under the calcination temperature of 650?,700?,750? and 800?,respectively.With the increase of the calcination temperature, the photocatalytic performance increased first and then decreased. When the temperature was 700?,zinc oxide reached the maximum photocatalytic effect. Therefore, the optimum preparation conditions of nano zinc oxide was the mass of the monomer and reagent was 3%,and the calcination temperature was 700?.The average particle size was 40 to 43 nm and the specific surface area was 9.08m2/g,after treatment for one hour, the decolorization rate of reactive yellow reached 94.3%.Lanthanum/yttrium doping can improve the particle size, speciflc surface area and porosity. The optimum doping amount of lanthanum was 0.2%,which the decolorization rate of methyl orange for 1 hour reached 96.5%;and the optimum doping amount of yttrium was 0.23%,which the decolorization rate of methyl orange for 1 hour was 94.5%.Both compared to the pure zinc oxide on the decolorization rate of methyl orange increased by 11.5% and 9.5%,respectively.
