With the development of computer technology, finite element simulation has a strong impact on material research and production.Hot rolling process of Hi-B steel affects its microstructure and mechanical properties. In this paper,DEFORM-3D software was used to simulate the hot rolling process and grain size evolution of Hi-B steel. The simulation results can be helpful to understand the microstructure evolution process. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1)The tested Hi-B steel was prepared in laboratory.Hot simulation experiment was carried out to obtain the stress and strain data under different temperature and strain rate.According to the data, obtained the material stress strain and recrystallization equation of related parameter needed for the subsequent finite element simulation model.2)The Hi-B steel was hot-rolled by seven passes in the laboratory. The rolled steel after each pass was sampled for microstructure observation. Then, the microstructure and corresponding data were analyzed and saved, providing support for subsequent finite element simulation.3)DEFORM-3D software was used to simulate the hot rolling process of Hi-B steel in laboratory.By comparing the simulation results and laboratory data of rolling, the temperature field, stress field and strain field of Hi-B steel during hot rolling process was analyzed and investigated.4)On the basis of finite element simulation, grain size change of Hi-B steel during hot rolling process was simulated using cellular automata to obtain its evolution process. The result was analyzed by comparing with the experimental result.
