In this paper,Poly(butylene succinate)(PBS)was irradiated by 60Co ? ray,which initiated PBS cross-linking reaction.thereby enabled an increasing in the melt viscosity values of PBS.So it lead to conducting blown film processing easily.The irradiation crosslinking PBS was modified by polyethylene terephthalate adipate(PBAT)and poly propylene carbonate(PPC)to toughen the film.And studied on PBS,PBS/PBAT and PBS/PPC degradation.Analysis on the property of PBS/PBAT blends,through the melt flow rate and the capillary rheometer,we found that the addition of PBAT significantly reduced the melt viscosity of the blends,which is conducive to blown film processing.Using X-ray diffraction(XRD),differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),polarized light microscopy(POM)and thermal gravimetric analyzer(TGA)analysed the thermal and crystal properties of PBS/PBAT blends,found that PBS did not change the crystal structure,but the spherulite size of PBS decreased,the degree of perfection of the crystal reduced,the degree of crystallinity decreased,crystallization temperature increased,and PBAT with a mass fraction of 20%,the system appeared PBAT spherulites.Total thermal stability of the blends is significantly improved by joining PBAT.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)showed that with mass fraction of PBAT increasing,blends compatibility gradually decreased,and gradually transited from brittle to ductile fracture.Analysis on mechanical properties of the blends obtained that,the tensile strength of PBS/PBAT films continued to lower.the elongation at break rised,the tear strength first decreased and then increased with PBAT increasing,the elongation at break reached 300%at PBAT content of 30%,about 30 times of the pure PBS,the toughness of the material has improved significantly.Analysis on the property of PBS/PPC blends,through the melt flow rate and the capillary rheometer,we found that the addition of PPC.significantly reduced the melt viscosity of the blends,which is conducive to blown film processing.With XRD,DSC,POM and TGA analysing the thermal and crystal properties of the PBS/PPC blends,it showed that it did not change the crystal structure of the PBS with adding PPC,and the system only appeared PBS spherulite,the spherulite size reduced,the crystallization degree of perfection and thermal stability of the blends decreased,but it increased the thermal stability of the PPC.SEM showed that,PBS is partially compatible with the PPC,when PPC content reached 50%,the system showed a significant incompatibility phenomenon.Analysis on mechanical properties of the blends,the tensile strength of PBS/PPC film continuously reduced,the elongation at break rised,when the content of the PPC reached 40%,the elongation at break attained 67.2%,which is about 5.72 times of pure PBS,it significantly improved the toughness of the material.Research on PBS,PBS/PBAT and PBS/PPC degradation,the results showed the macro and micro picture of the soil burial surface both appeared different degradation behavior as the days increasing.and the mass loss increased,the intrinsic viscosity values decreased,namely,the molecular weight reduced.
