Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) has excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance, flame retardant properties and processing performance. But its poor toughness and expensive price limit its scope of use. The price of Nylon 6 (PA6) is relatively low, and the solubility parameter is similar to PPS. So PA6 can be prepared with PPS to alloy, reduce the use of cost. In addition, carbon fiber (CF) as a new material with high strength, high modulus, corrosion resistance, small thermal expansion coefficient and so on, is commonly used in the preparation of reinforced resin composite materials. This paper mainly studies the CF enhanced PPS/PA6 alloy and CF enhanced hydroxyl methylation PPS. The main contents are as follows.PPS/PA6 alloy was prepared by melt extrusion. With the increase of PA6 content, the mechanical properties of PPS/PA6 alloy first decreased and then increased. E-MA-GMA and POE-g-MAH as a compatibility agent can improve the compatibility of PPS/PA6 alloy. The mechanical properties of the alloy increase significantly when the compatibility agent is POE-g-MAH and the addition amount of is 4%. SEM photo from the microscopic morphology of the POE-g-MAH to improve the compatibility of the alloy. The CF reinforced can improve the mechanical properties of the alloy, when PPS/ PA6 mass ratio of 6:4, POE-g-MAH content is 4%, CF content is 30%, the tensile strength of the alloy is 179.65 MPa, bending strength is 249.43 MPa, impact strength is 11.03 kJ/m2. DSC results show that a small amount of CF join can play a role of heterogeneous nucleation and to promote the crystallization of polymer in the alloy, when CF content increased, it will hinder the crystallization of polymer in the alloy.PPS enhanced by CF was prepared by melt extrusion. Using concentrated nitric acid oxidation treatment CF, and then using the coupling agent KH560, NDZ-102 treatment, the composite material obtained with the untreated CF preparation of the composite material mechanical properties of the difference is not big. Under alkaline conditions, the PPS was prepared by the reaction of formaldehyde solution with PPS under the condition of heat and pressure. The results were proved by FT and XPS tests. The effects of reaction temperature, reaction time, reactant ratio on the degree of functionalization were studied. When the dosage of PPS and functionalized PPS ratio of 7:3, the treated CF adding amount was 30%, the tensile strength of the composites is 187.4MPa, bending strength is 260.6MPa, impact strength is 14.41kJ/m. Compared with without addition of hydroxymethylation PPS preparation of composite, the tensile strength increase 6.2%, the bending strength increase 5.1%,and the impact strength increase 7.7%.
