With the high level of industrialization increasing unceasingly, a new type of pollutants can be found almost every day in the environment. Because of their difficult degradation, biological enrichment and other characteristics, the wide public concern over the recent years has been caused. Studies have shown that endocrine disrupting effects has been caused by some of the emerging pollutants, which can especially affect the normal growth and development of biologic species through the thyroid hormone signaling pathways with the potential harm to eco-system of environment. Commonly, the evaluation of emerging contaminants to detect the damage is mainly through the chemical analysis method. Although biological toxicity evaluation has been used to study these issues, the endocrine disturbance, especially thyroid hormone signal interference assessment technology is not yet mature. In this paper, the effective method of evaluating thyroid hormone signal interference was optimally designed based on the sensitive indicators, including Head area (HA), Mouth width (MW), ULBW/BL, HLL/SVL, and body weight. The concentration of T3 (0.6-1 nmol·L-1) was determined, and molecular and morphology of the exposure time were determined to evaluat the thyroid hormone signal interference by the new pollutants (represented by bisphenol S).
