Polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE), known as the "king of plastic", is a nonpolar linear crystalline polymer, which has many unique physical and chemical properties, such as resistance to ultraviolet radiation, good electrical insulation, thermal stability, excellent aging resistance, minimal water absorption and excellent chemical resistance etc,. Therefore, PTFE was widely applied in many fields such as electron/electrical, anticorrosive wearing, machinery, petrochemical engineering, weave, space flight and aviation, especially in the high temperature filter and acid-alkali resistance. However, PTFE is so stable that it's too difficult to dissolve and even above the melting point it does not flow. Therefore, PTFE fibers can't be directly prepared through solution or melting spinning method. In this paper, the pure PTFE nano fiber membrane was prepared by electrospinning. Besides, we obtained PTFE composite fibrous membranes with excellent properties by modification. This paper mainly included the following three parts:1?With the template of ultra high molecular weight poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO), PTFE fibrous membranes were prepared by electrospining the mixture of PTFE and PEO. The results showed that the highest strength and modulus of PTFE was 14.52 MPa and 68.9 MPa respectively when sintering at 380 ? for 10 min. Meanwhile, the fiber membrane had excellent resistance to high temperature and chemical corrosion.2?Due to the low strength, the practical application of the pure PTFE fiber membrane has been greatly restricted. In this section, the soluble PAI resin was added to the mixture of PTFE and PEO, then the PTFE/PAI membranes was obtained by electrospin the mixture and finally annealing. The results showed that the highest strength and modulus of PTFE-PAI was 18.79 MPa and 187.51 MPa respectively when the content of PAI was 20%, which was improved 31% and 185% than that of the pure PTFE, respectively.3?In order to further improve the performance of PTFE, we add PAAS into the mixture of PEO/PTFE, then electrospin the mixture and finally annealing. The results showed that the strength and modulus of PTFE-PAI was 28.97 MPa and 114.58 MPa respectively when the content of PAAS was 20%, which was improved 99% and 74% than that of the pure PTFE, respectively.
