| This paper briefly introduced the definition,source and harm of volatil e organic compounds (VOCs). The characteristics and develop-ment trend of the main VOCs treatment technologies, at present, inc-luding chemical oxidation method, physical separation method, biol-ogical method, photolys is method and electrochemical method were r-esearched and analysed. Dur ing these methods, the new plasma syn-ergistic catalytic technology has gr eat prospects for development. T-hen the reaction mechanisms of the new plasma synergistic catalyt-ic technology and the byproduct in tail gas wer e expounded. In this paper, the lists of the instruments and medicines nee ded for the ex-periment were made, and the reasonable experimental progr am was planed. Based on the experimental program, the structure and wor ki-ng principle of the core devices such as the plasma reactor and the pr oton transferreaction time of flight mass spectrometer were analy-zed. The test was divided into three parts. The first part was the e-xperiment of i ndividual plasma degradation of toluene gas; The sec-ond was the experim ent of the plasma reactors respectively filled with ceramic particles, molec ular sieve particles, γ-Al2O3 particles d-egradation of toluene gas; The pla sma reactor filled with γ-Al2O3 p-articles with catalyst manganese salt to degrade toluene gas was th-e third part. The experimental result showed t hat the degradation r-ate of toluene was increasing with the increasing of the applied vol-tage and the frequency of the power supply, but leaded t o the incr-easing of energy consumption. At a certain power, the increasin g o-f the toluene gas initial concentration or gas flow rate would cause-d the decreasing of the degradation rate of toluene gas. The key to the ex periment, which had the more ideal degradation rate of tolue-ne, less ener gy consumption, low concentration of HCN, CH3CN an-d O3 in tail gas, was to choose the suitable average can be used. The optimal experimental parameters were 16kV applied voltage,20- OHz discharge frequency,1600mg/L initial concentration of toluene gas,0. 3m3/L gas flow, and the concentration of the byproduct was also in the s afe range. Filled the reactor with ceramic particles, mo-lecular sieve parti cles,γ-Al2O3 particles to experiment, then screen-ed the treatment effect o f γ-Al2O3 particles as carriers of manganese catalyst load, then plasma syn ergistic catalytic reactor was made. T-he electrical parameters and gas dist ribution coefficient of toluene degradation experiment by plasma synergisti c catalytic had a similar effect with individual plasma reactor experiment on the degradation of toluene, but had better optimal experimental parame ters which were 11.5kV applied voltage, 100Hz discharge frequency,1800 mg/L initial concentration of toluene gas,0.5m3/L gas flow, and energy c-onsumption was reduced. Increasing the amount of toluene didn’t re-duce average valuable energy. At the same time,and tail gas almost no by-prod ucts. In a word, the plasma synergistic catalysis can effe-ctively reduce th e voltage and discharge frequency of the reaction, eliminate the generation of by-products, reduce the energy c-onsumption and improve the safety, which has a great effect on the promot-ion of the technology. Finally, the development direction of the technology was prospected, mainly for the i mprovement of the reactor, the selection of the filler and the development of the catalyst. |
