Large space membrane structure has advantages of light weight, small collection size, which is widely used in the space tensioned deployable antenna, inflatable antenna, solar sail and so on. However, the material of membrane has a property of very low-flexural rigidity, resulting in the wrinkling deformation of membrane structure in the complexed space environment. Thus it has a poor impact on the membrane's surface precision and the antenna's electrical performance. This paper proposes to have a deeply research on the wrinkles' extension process and the elimination method of the space membrane structure. Firstly, the formation and extension process of the film wrinkles is analyzed on the static load by establishing the finite element model of the membrane structure. The amplitude and wavelength of the shear membrane wrinkles is obtained on the post-buckling steady state, which provides a basis for controlling wrinkles. Secondly, the method to eliminate film wrinkles is provided. The finite element model of the square tensioned membrane is established. Through proportional iterative control method, the membrane wrinkles' field and wrinkles' amplitude are decreased effectively with the simulation of the model. Finally, by the above method, the wrinkles of the skirt membrane structure including the manufacture error is adjusted, which can not only eliminate the overall wrinkles of the square tension membrane, but also the local wrinkles, significantly ameliorating the surface accuracy of the membrane.
