High silicon aluminum alloy,used in many areas,has its unique properties.In manufacturing industry of the automotive components and electronics package,milling machining is generally employed for Silicon aluminum alloy.However,when conducting high-silicon aluminum alloy processing,tools wear serious and the workpiece surface is of low accuracy.It is of great significance to study machinability of new metal alloy like high silicon aluminum.In addition,finite element analysis technique gains great promotion in recent year with the rapid development of computer technology,hence simulation for milling process by use of finite element analysis software has been a forceful method to improve product manufacturing precision and enterprises' economic efficiency.Based on metal cutting principle,finite element simulation software Advant Edge FEM was used in the thesis for milling process simulation of high-silicon aluminum alloy CE11;changing law of milling force and milling temperature with variation of milling amount were analyzed as well.In this thesis,simulation analysis data setting was based on orthogonal experiment,single factor experimental design was performed for each factor,and analysis of impact on milling force and temperature was carried out under axis speed,feed rate,milling width and back engagement.To validate the feasibility and accuracy of using AdvantEdge FEM for simulation of high-silicon aluminum alloy,milling test on CNC was performed,and milling force and milling temperature were measured by dynamometer and thermometer at the same time.Finally,the experimental data and simulation data were analyzed;the two experimental results are basically consistent.Through experiments it can be concluded that finite element simulation method can be applied to the milling process research of the new material of high silicon aluminum alloy.Employ of finite element analysis method can improve the efficiency of research and reduce the test cost,which had great practical significance for difficultto-process materials like high-silicon aluminum alloys.
