Domestic and foreign institutions have conducted investigations on 2?m?3?m laser, due to its applications in military weapons, environmental pollution detectors and medical surgeries. The ZBLAN fluoride glass which shows outstanding 2?m?3?m emission properties has been developed into commercial mid-infrared laser products. However, the shortcoming of inferior chemical stability as well as the rigorous preparation requirement prevents the fluoride glass from further industrialization. Fluoride tellurite glass which is generated by adding TeO2 into fluoride glass has been proved to be a good candidate for 2?m?3?m laser since it combines both advantages of oxide glass and fluoride glass. Moreover, fluoride tellurite has a wide component range of glass formation and the properties of fluoride tellurite are adjustable. Therefore, in this dissertation, we have conducted a series of experimentations with fluoride tellurite glass host.1.The effects of TeO2 on the physical properties, thermal stability and structure in fluoride tellurite glass host have been investigated in this part. 2.The effects of TeO2 on the physical properties, structure and luminescent properties in Er3+ doped fluoride tellurite glass have been investigated in this part. A king of good material host for 2?m?3?m laser is obtained. Meanwhile, the luminescent properties and energy transfer route of Er3+/Er3+ co-doped fluoride tellurite glass are studied.3.The luminescent properties and energy transfer route of Ho3+/Tm3+ and Ho3+/Yb3+ co-doped fluoride tellurite glass are studied. And the fluoride tellurite glass has promising 2?m?3?m luminescent properties.
