Disturbance can remove algae in the eutrophication of rivers, which helps the suspended particulate matter to break and adsorb the algal cells in its natural sedimentation process. But the current study about algaecide effect of sediment disturbance is very few. So to study the effect and mechanism of sediment disturbance algae has important significance in dealing with the problem of water eutrophication. This article discusses the three aspects, firstly, the removal effect and mechanism of algae in the overlying water under different disturbance parameters; secondly, different species of algae removal under the disturbance of sediment; thirdly, algaecide effect of sediment disturbance associated with the coagulation experiment, which provide some basic theoretical research for sediment disturbance algae as a new technology.This study reference to the research of clay algaecide, coagulation and sedimentation algaecide, effects of hydrodynamic conditions on the growth of algae and so on.Sediment disturbance on the effect of this new approach algae preliminary exploration and research.The results show that, sediment disturbance could increase the Chl-a removal rate, after the 1 st disturbance the average Chl-a removal rate could get the highest (65%),each disturbance decline of Chl-a were lower than the first. Increase disturbance intensity and disturbance time can improve the first disturbance algae removal. The algae removal is relatively stable under high frequency disturbances. Meanwhile, sediment disturbance can effectively inhibit the overlying water algae photosynthesis activity, which was significantly lower than the control experiment; sediment disturbance has a certain degree of effect on the solubility of phosphate (DIP) and ammonia removal.Through cell morphology before and after the disturbance of microscopic algae analysis, we may have the preliminary results of the mechanism of sediment disturbance algae removal:On the one hand, and mechanical perturbations break and kill algal cells, changing the physical and chemical properties of the surface, making them can not be gathered at the surface and to control their further growth; On the other hand, due to the significantly reduce of the volume of debris after cells crushed, sediment in the natural settling could easily electrostatic adsorb the algal cells.In this study, water samples for algal species analysis shows that, raw water algae cyanobacteria and green algae dominated mainly, diatom content is low.Sediment disturbance can completely remove water diatoms and cyanobacteria and green algae most.At the same time,sediment disturbance for each algal genus has very good water suppression stress.In particular, photosynthetic activity of cyanobacteria and diatoms disappear, almost all algal cell death.Sediment disturbance pretreatment in combination with coagulation process could get the removal of chlorophyll average of 91.82%,which was significantly higher than no sediment pre-treatment (73.90%).Compared with undisturbed Pretreatment,after pretreatment disturbance,coagulation process on Chl-a removal rate of 10%.This shows that for the algae in terms of sediment disturbance between coagulation process and have a synergistic effect.
