Printing cylinder is the core component of the printing machine.The limitation of conventional printing drum structure design method and transmission supporting component are key factors to cause the deflection of the cylinder and the quality of printing products.The paper puts forward the design method of variable stiffness printing drum structure from two aspects that the structure design and the supporting performance of the printing cylinder,it selects the preload elastic composite cylindrical roller bearing as the variable stiffness printing cylinder drive bearing parts and analyzes the new structure and preload elastic support to improve the deflection and the supporting performance of the printing cylinder.The main research contents are as follows:First,the paper presents the method of variable stiffness printing drum structure design,and compares it with deflection of the conventional printing cylinder.To establish the finite element model of conventional printing cylinder and analyze the influence of gravity load on the axial deflection of printing cylinder,The paper puts forward the method of variable stiffness printing drum structure design in view of the limitation of the conventional printing drum structure design,and compares it with the axial deflection of the conventional printing cylinder.The results show that the influence of the gravity load on the deflection of the printing cylinder cannot be ignored,and the variable stiffness printing cylinder can solve the problem of excessive axial bending deflection.Second,dynamic characteristic analysis of printing roller with variable rigidity.The analysis of modal analysis and the gap dynamic impact of conventional neutral printing cylinder and variable stiffness show the variable stiffness printing cylinder has more advantages in terms of free vibration characteristics,avoiding resonance and structural stability.Third,supporting performance analysis of variable stiffness printing cylinder based on preload elastic supporting.To analyse the influence of the preload elastic bearing and the plain bearing on the deflection of the printing cylinder by optimizing the filling degree of preload elastic composite cylindrical roller bearing when the printing cylinder issubjected to the working load.The results show that the optimum value of the filling degree of the rolling element is 65%,and the preload elastic bearing is used as the variable rigidity printing roller of the drive bearing component has the characteristics of ideal rigidity.Fourth,Over-pressure protection analysis of variable stiffness printing cylinder based on preload elastic supporting.To study the over-pressure protection of the preload elastic bearing as the variable stiffness printing cylinder of the transmission support component when it is under pressure and analyze the reasons for the failure of the preload elastic bearing for determine the optimum bearing the amount of interference.The results show that the variable stiffness printing cylinder based on the preload elastic support has the characteristics of weak rigidity.The conclusion of this paper not only enrich the printing cylinder structure design,expanded the selection of printing cylinder supporting member,but also promote the application of new elastic composite cylindrical roller bearings.This paper is of reference value for the research and application of the high precision printing machine mechanical support transmission.
