In this paper, four compatibilizers have been used to modify PC/PLA alloy, including two kinds of Styrene-Acrylonitrile-Glycidyl methacrylate terpolymer(SAG), Styrene-Acrylonitrile-Glycidyl maleic anhydride terpolymer(SAM) and TMP which has epoxy functional group and their effect on the property and structure of PC/PLA(70/30) alloy was also studied. On this basis, SAG was chose to composited with poly-ethylene acrylic acid(EAA) as composite compatibilizer. Their synergistic effect and mechanism were investigated. Moreover, four DOPO(9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide) derivants have been synthesized and their impact on PLA flame retardant property was studied. The main conclusions are listed blow:(1) SAG-008 is the most effective one in four compatibilizers. When its content is 3 phr, the mechanism property of PC/PLA alloy is best.(2) The result shows that SAG composited with EAA is more effective than single compatibilizer with the same content.(3) The most effective content of synergistic compatibilizer is 3 phr SAG-008 and 4 phr EAA. The statistics indicates that the modified PC/PLA alloy's ecolongation at break is 200%, 11 times as much as blank; notched impact strength is 577 J/m, 16 times as much as blank; Ductile Index is 7.8, 11 times as much as blank.(4) Four DOPO derivants have been synthesized, including two kinds of metallic DOPO derivant: DOPO-Ca and DOPO-Zn; the other two contain P-N: DOPO-EDA and DOPO-Pi P. The result shows that the stability of DOPO-EDA and DOPO-Pi P are much better than DOPO. Their decomposition temperature is 350 oC.(5) With the increasing content of flame retardant, the oxygen index of PLA increases. The statistics shows that DOPO and DDP is more effective than other four DOPO derivants. When the content of DOPO is 5 phr, Oxygen Index of PLA is 33%, which means the modified PLA is nonflammable material.
