It is well known that although the total amount of water resources in our country is large, which ranking six in the world, the large population and uneven distribution lead to the water resources average amount per capita to be lower than 25% of the world's average. Since the 21 st century, as the global economic is developing rapidly, the population is also growing, the water pollution is serious finally, and the water need of world is increasing continually.Water environmental pollution and shortage of water resources are two difficult problems for the world, especially for some large population and developing countries and regions.Alpine region is the birthplace of China's major freshwater lakes and rivers,which has a special geographical location. So it has a very important economic and social significance to research and protection the ecological environment and water resources in alpine region. In recent years, driven by the western development strategy in China, especially in the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and Xingjiang-Tibet railway, every depot of railroad locomotives in alpine region have produced more and more sewage along the route. In this paper, we inspect and analyze a large number of relevant information, taked the sewage generated by Xining Railway depot as the research subjects. By detecting the BOD5, COD, SS, TN, TP, NH3-N, LAS, pH, petroleum and other indicators of the sewage to understand the characteristics of the railway depot contaminated wastewater, by microbial method combined with physical methods of composite processing technology to research and designe a suitable sewage treatment technology for railroad locomotives in Alpine region, and by carried on the key technology research to achieve the purpose of saving energy, easy to operate, cost-efficient and waste water recycling. This study made the following findings:(1) All the pollution indicators of sewage samples, included BOD5, COD, SS, TN, TP, NH3- N, LAS, pH, oil, etc. were determined and analyzed by GB method, obtained the firsthand data of xining railway locomotives sewage, understood and grasped the sewage pollution and pollution characteristics, which will provide an important basis for the further research work.(2) According to the pollution condition and pollution characteristics of Xining railway locomotives sewage, We studied and designed a sewage treatment technology, studied and confirmed the key techniques and methods, and the related parameters were calculated and design.(3) We obtained 66 kinds of microbial strains from the sludge samples by microbial separation and purification technology, of which 25 strains of fungi, 20 strains of bacteria, and obtained four floraia. The sewage treatment effect of the four bacteria was studied and the results showed that the sewage treatment effect of the mixed bacteria(H3) was best.(4) Conducted a natural, low cost, effective adsorption materials research on the effects of sewage disposal, the effects of different combinations of slag, activated carbon and quartz sand were studied, the results showed that the effect of slag, quartz sand, activated carbon combined treatment was best.(5) The sludge domestication method was used for domesticating sludge in the ordinary aeration conditions with 10-20 degrees temperature. After 36 days 72 cycle of operation, we complete the domesticating process of activated sludge, and obtained a number of bacteria. The treatment effect, the advantage of species composition, and the mechanism of wastewater treatment were studied, the results showed that the advantage bacteria was 21 species and the advantage fungi was 20 kinds.The 21 species of advantage bacteria were identified by 16 s rDNA appraisal, some of the advantages strains are: Bacillus subtilis,Bacillus thuringiensis,Bacillus mojavensis, Bacillus toyonensis,Bacillus licheniformis,Bacillus safensis,Pseudomonas veroni,Enterobacter hormaechei,Leclercia adecarboxylata,and we also constructed the phylogenetic tree. The analysis results showed that the sewage treatment mechanism of the advantage strains were mainly nitrogen, phosphorus removal and oil removal.(6) We studied the process of amplification and combination of sewage treatment in the laboratory. The test results showed that the all the water index reached the B emission standard in our country, among which the total nitrogen, the suspended solids and ammonia nitrogen level reached A standard. It is needed to further research.In conclusion, the study results showed that the treatment effect of railroad locomotives sewage by microbial composite processing method and technology is good, the wastwater index up to the national“urban sewage treatment plant pollutant discharge standard”(GB18918-2002) level B standard, and the technique can achieve the purpose of energy conservation, emissions reduction, sewage recycling, simple operation, high efficiency and low cost.
