ABS resin and PVC resin are two kinds of the five common Plastics. They have a very wide range of applications. ABS resin has good toughness, but less effective flame retardant; added to PVC resin in ABS resin can well improve the flame retardancy of ABS resin. But, the mechanical properties of alloy will decrease. The combine of ABS and PVC can reach complementarity.This paper presents an anti-aging retardant ABS/PVC alloy and researchs the alloy formulation, preparation process, flame retardancy and resistance to aging.The main results are as follows:1. In the study on preparation process of ABS/PVC alloys, the best process had been determined as mixing-twin screw extruder-mill-pressing.2. In the study on formulation of ABS/PVC alloys, the alloy was measured in mechanical properties and oxygen index performance. The study found that tensile and flexural strength can rise with the content of the ABS reducing. The impact resistance properties of the alloy increased first, then decreased, and increased at last with the reduction in the content of ABS. Oxygen index increased significantly with the increasing of PVC content. The oxygen index increased from 19.3 to 44.1. When the ratio of ABS/PVC if 60/40, the dispersed phase is uniformly and the island structure is particularly evident. Impact resistance peaked 8.78KJ/m2.3. In the study on flame retardancy of ABS/PVC alloy, when the amount of Sb2O3 is fixed, oxygen index increased from 24.2 to 33.1 with e increasing of DBDPO content. The alloy reached the level of flame retardant. The addition of compound flame retardant can reach the effect of flame retardant, but it greatly reduced the mechanical strength properties. Considering, the alloy can achieve the best performance when Sb2O3/DBDPO ratio reached 2:3. In this case, the halogen antimony coordination can be best.4. In the study on resistance to aging of ABS/PVC alloy, antioxidant 245 and UV-327 can effectively improve the aging resistance Of ABS/PVC alloy and the retention rate of mechanical properties. After putting the alloy which is addded the antioxidant 245 in the thermal aging tank for 1000h, the change of yellow index is 9.7; after putting the alloy which is addded the UV-327 under the sunlight for 1000h, the change of yellow index is 10.5.
