As an important part of chemical process system engineering research, flowsheeting technology has a critical guiding significance on the design and production of the chemical industry, theoretically and practically. The Method of partitioning and tearing sort is an important procedure of the flowsheeting and its operational efficiency exert great influences on flowsheeting. The main difficulties of the method of partitioning and separation sort are the complexity and diversity of the topology structure in process system. In addition, the procedures need to be adjusted constantly in the process of designing and optimization, namely, changing topological structure of the system. In order to improve the efficiency of the partitioning and separation sort, this article is specified in the methods of partitioning and separation sort.Based on systematic analysis and summary of existing research, we furthered the study relating to the method for chemical process system in partitioning and tearing sort in the following aspects:(1) Combined with the characteristics of chemical process system, we get the common method of the partitioning sort. At the same time the method of cutting off the cycle stream is realized by using the criteria which are minimum total numbers of variables in no extra cut-off and cut-off stream, and minimum sum of weights of tearing stream.(2)In responding to the problem of quickly partitioning sort again after the change of topology structure in process system, the paper improved the partitioning method based on depth-first Search algorithm (the Depth-First Search) in graph theory, and proposed the method for quickly partitioning sort again, which can achieve the goal to quickly separate sort again.(3) The above mentioned algorithms are realized by using MATLAB. The proposed methods are applied to the flowsheeting, which proves that the algorithms are accurate and reliable. At the same time, the method to quickly separate sort again of system is verified and compared by using actual chemical process flowsheet. The result shows:the method to quickly separate sort again of system can significantly reduce the running time for tearing sort again.
